Margaret Cow

Margaret Cow married Alexander Cheyne 6 December 1711, in accordance with the procedures of the Church of Scotland, in Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Marriages, Parish of Peterhead, 1664-1764, Page 263, "Dec'r 6th (1711) Alex'r Cheyn (1258) & Marg't Cow (1273)". Two of her children's baptisms were witnessed by James Cow, probably her father or brother. No recorded children there were born to the the couple until 1718. There was a Margaret Cheyne, born to an Alexander Cheyne and an unidentified mother in the interim.1

On 1 August 1714. The IGI baptismal record of Margaret Cheyne (9580) identified only the father, Alexander Cheyne. Her parents are assumed to have been Alexander Cheyne (1258) and Margaret Cow (1273).2
