Alexander Cheyne married Margaret Cow 6 December 1711, in accordance with the procedures of the Church of Scotland, in Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Marriages, Parish of Peterhead, 1664-1764, Page 263, "Dec'r 6th (1711) Alex'r Cheyn (1258) & Marg't Cow (1273)".1
On 1 August 1714. The IGI baptismal record of Margaret Cheyne (9580) identified only the father, Alexander Cheyne. Her parents are assumed to have been Alexander Cheyne (1258) and Margaret Cow (1273).2
The baptismal record of James Cheyne documented Alexander Cheyne as his father, 19 December 1718, in Peterhead, Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Peterhead, 1668-1738, Page 189, "19 (Dec 1718) Alex'r Cheyn (1258) in P'head a fon bapt. James (1274), James Cow & W'm Cheyn (1259) witnefses".3
Alexander Cheyne, sailor, witnessed the christening of his son, Alexander Cheyne, on 18 February 1720, at Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Peterhead, 1668-1738, Page 190, "18 (Feb 1720) Alex'r Cheyn (1258) sailor a fon bapt. Alex'r (1275), James Cow (probably an uncle) & Georg Thomfon witneffes".4
The baptismal record of Isobel Cheyne documented Alexander Cheyne as her father, 7 October 1722, in Peterhead, Peterhead Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. The following is a transcription from the Register of Baptisms, Parish of Peterhead, 1668-1738, Page 194, "Oct'r 7 (1722) Alex'r Cheyn (1258) in Peterhead had a daughter bapt. Isobel (1276); W'm Cheyn (1259) & W'm Clerk witneffes".5
Alexander Cheyne died before 16 July 1725.6
