Is. Cheyne was born, about 1831, in Rathen Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. No birth record was found in the Rathen OPR or IGI for her.1

Isabella Cheyne (21634) probably was either Isobel (12347) or (14796).

Is. Cheyne was listed on the 1851 British Census at Burnthill, in Pitsligo Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland. She was a twenty year old labourer on the farm of David Watson, farmer of 96 acres. She was born in Rathen Parish, Aberdeen. The only recorded Cheyne family in Rathen at that time was that of William Cheyne (9) and Magdelene Birnie (11). All their daughters have been found in other places in 1851. Their Isabella would have been 12 years old in 1851.1
