Richard Cheyne married Agnes Gordon 22 July 1908, at Hillsborough Church of Ireland, in Lisburn, Ireland.³

Richard Cheyne and his wife Agnes Cheyne were listed on the 1911 Ireland Census, at 1 Reilly's Trench, in Hillsborough, County Down, Ireland. He was head of household and a surface labourer. All family members were listed as Presbyterian. Richard and Agnes had been married for 2 years and she had no children.. He was listed as 40 years of age and born in County Down.⁴

Richard Cheyne died 1938 in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. He died in the third quarter of 1938.¹
