He was listed as 21 years old, single, born in Llyswen Parish, an architect and surveyor's assistant.3 His estate was probated on 27 July 1929 at Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.4

Alexander Cheyne was granted the probate of the estate of the deceased, Caroline Cheyne, 5 January 1939. The will of Caroline Cheyne was proved 5 January 1939. An abstract of which reads: "Cheyne Caroline of Oakley Hospital road Builth Wells Breconshire widow died 10 December 1938 Probate Oxford 5 January to Alexander Cheyne county surveyor. Effects £821.".5
