     Isabella Cheyne was born, about 1848, in Scotland. Her birthplace was noted as New York on the 1850 US Census and as Scotland on the 1870.1,2

Isabella Cheyne was found on a passenger list with her parents Hugh Cheyne and Margaret Cheyne, 19 July 1849, at New York, New York, USA. They were on a Manifest of Passengers aboard the Cora Lynn, out of Glasgow. Hugh was listed as Mr. Hugh Cheyne, 26 and a merchant; Marg't was 22; and, Isabella, 1-1/2. They were citizens of Scotland and intended to become an inhabitants of the United States.2

Margaret Cheyne, Isabella Cheyne, Mary Cheyne and Johannah Cheyne were listed as in the household of Hugh Cheyne on the 1850 United States Census, in Brooklyn, Kings, New York, USA.3

Isabella Cheyne, Mary Cheyne, Thomas Cheyne and Margaret Cheyne were found on a passenger list with their parents Hugh Cheyne and Margaret Cheyne, 2 April 1858 at New York, New York, USA. They were on a Manifest of Passengers aboard the Glasgow, out of Glasgow. Hugh was listed as Mr. Hugh Cheyne, 34 and a merchant; Margaret was 30; Isabella, 10; Mary, 8; Thomas, 4; and, Margaret, 1. They were citizens of Great Britain and intended to become an inhabitants of the United States.4

Margrit Chiene, Iebella Chiene, Mary Chiene, Margrit Chiene, Thomas Chiene and Samuel Chiene were listed as in the household of Hugh Chiene on the 1860 United States Census, at Ward 22, District 1, in New York, New York, USA. Isabella was his daughter and was listed as 12 years of age and born in Scotland.5

Margaret Cheyne, Margaret Cheyne, Thomas Cheyne, Samuel Cheyne, Hugh Cheyne, Lizzie Cheyne, Ellen Cheyne, Walter Cheyne and Isabella Cheyne were listed as in the household of Hugh Cheyne on the 1870 United States Census, at Ward 20, in Brooklyn, Kings, New York, USA. She was his daughter.1

Isabella Cheyne married Robert J. Culbert 9 May 1873, in New York, Brooklyn, New York, USA. A newspaper extract dated 12 May 1873 reads: "May 9 Bklyn Rev J C K Milligan and Rev J H Boggs Robert J Culbert Isabella Cheyne dau Hugh".6
