Letters of administration were granted to Stewart Henry Jr. and Elizabeth Henry (widow), sureties were Stewart Henry Sr. and Jeremiah Banner. The administrators' account was approved 17 aug 1846. (Armstrong Co. Probate Register Docket 1, p. 158). History (1883) provides information: David Henry settled 1797 on 386 acres straddling Sugar Ck. and Washington Tps., sons Stewart, Alexander, Nathaniel, dau. Margaret Colwell.

He is described as "ancient baillif" (meaning formerly a Landvogt) in the English version of the will of Niklaus Gatschet, silversmith, in 1727. He left, among other writings, a Zeitbuch de Stadt Bern 1673-1704 (reference: H. T�rler, in Berner Taschenbuch, 1905). The surname was spelled Herport in the records of that time, but today the correct spelling is Herbort. (Stammbaum der Familie Herport, manuscript in Stadtbibliothek Bern.)
One suggestion for her surname is Herrmann. It is possible that Jean Marcuard was married to another wife before Catherine.
