Published genealogy recounts that he spent many years in Russia and made a fortune there. Syndic at Moudon, 1813. The published account also says he and his wife had 18 children, but the names of only six are given there.

Married at German Lutheran church in Geneva, according to marriage register at Moudon.
He was probably the physician among whose papers were found notarial registers of his grandfather Isaac Dutoit and his father Abraham Dutoit. He was also the owner of the house at No. 9, rue du Temple in Moudon, which he remodeled extensively in 1756. We are indebted to Monique Fontannaz for details about the history of this house. As early as 1660, the neighbors complained that the new roofline on this house obstructed the view of the clock tower adjacent to the church of St. Etienne. At the time, it belonged to Jean DeCristaz. After his death, it passed to his son-in-law, Noble David de Treytorrens. The records left by Isaac Dutoit concerning this house (written on unused pages of a notarial register of Jean Jordan, ACV DO 33/1) specify that David de Treytorrens was an "uncle" of Isaac, and it was through negotiations with members of the de Treytorrens family in Combremont, Yverdon, and Lausanne that Isaac was able to acquire this residence first for Antoine Carran, and later for himself. (Isaac was actually a first cousin once removed of David de Treytorrens. This relationship is known in French as "oncle de la mode de Bretagne". David's grandfather and Isaac's great-grandfather was Guillaume Buttet.)
Widow of the late Abraham Dutoit of Chavannes, according to 1685 testament of her mother Jeanne Wagnieres. The identity of the Abraham is open to question, as we are unable to locate a reasonable baptism, but is clearly stated as son of the late Jaques Dutoit in the marriage contract of 05 oct 1677 (David de Treytorrens, notary). Sara's second marriage contract is dated 26 sep 1685 (J. Crausaz, notary) and notes that she still has three children by her first husband as of that date.
Her relationships are clarified (?) by a sale of property dated 25 may 1685 (Abraham Ballif, notary, ACV DP 1/1), where she is described as Sara, widow of the late Abraham Dutoit "le Jeusne" of Chavannes, bourgois of Moudon, daughter of the late Daniel Dutoit "l'ayn�", with the consent of her cousins Pierre Dutoit, Abraham DeMont, and Denys Bezensson. Her "cousins" are evidently the three children of the late Gabriel Dutoit and his wife Marie Fudri, who by 1685 had remarried to Jean Dutoit. While we have been unable to find a direct connection between Gabriel and Sara, there is a doubly indirect connection: Sara's late husband Abraham Dutoit was a nephew of Jean Dutoit, step-father of the three "cousins". Thus, the children of Gabriel Dutoit were "step-cousins" of Abraham Dutoit.

Marriage indicates he is resident of Cerjaux. By 11 apr 1616 (Jean Maquelin, notary at Vevey), he was dead, and his wife had remarried. A dispute had arisen among his heirs, and the names involved suggest that neither Sebastien nor his brother Jean Dutoit left heirs, for otherwise his uncles Pierre Dutoit the minister and others would not have been involved.
His baptism has not been found, but it is possible he is actually the same person as the Vincent Philippe Dutoit baptised 12 jul 1730, of whom we have no further record. So far, however, we have no confirmation that Sigismond is actually a son of Samuel Dutoit and Jeanne Marie Martin, as stated in the published genealogy. He may have been the S. Dutoit granted citizenship at Vevey in 1763.
Relocated at some point to Bois-le-Duc, and attended the Walloon church there. He was received as a member of the Walloon congregation at the Hague 22 apr 1731 ("Sigismond Vincent Dutoit de Moudon") on the recommendation of the congregation of Bois-le-Duc.
