Smith & Wife To Buzan,1792

This indenture made this 1st day of June in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and ninety two Between Jacob Smith of Jefferson County and State of Virginia and Susanna his wife of the one part and Jesse Buzan of the County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Jacob Smith for and in consideration of the sum of One hundred and five pounds current lawful money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said Jesse Buzan the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and himself therewith fully satysfied. He the said Jacob Smith hath granted bargained and sold a lien and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain and sell a lien and confirm unto the said Jesse Buzan his Heirs Executors, Administrators or assigns the full quantity of two hundred and thirty three and a half acres of Land part of a settlement and preemption of said Smith’s Assignee of Brand situate in Jefferson County in the aforesaid State on the waters of Drennon’s Lick Creek and bounded as followith to wit; Beginning at two Ashes and a Sugar tree southwest corner to the above mentioned settlement and Preemption and continuing thence South forty-five degrees _____ One hundred and twenty one ______ and two thirds to some Sugar trees thence North forty five degrees East three hundred and six and a half poles to a Buckeye hickory black Thorn and white thorn thence North forty five degrees West One hundred and twenty one poles and two thirds to a white Oak and ash, thence South forty five degrees West three hundred and six poles and a half to the Beginning To have and to hold the said two hundred and thirty three and a half Acres of Land and all and singular the premises above mentioned and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances unto the said Jesse Buzan his Heirs and Assigns to the only proper use benefit and behoof of he the said Jesse Buzan his Heirs and Assigns forever, and the said Jacob Smith for himself his Heirs Executors and Administrators, the said two hundred and thirty three Acres and a half of Land and premises and all and every part & parcel thereof, against him and his Heirs and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever to the said Jesse Buzan his heirs & Assigns, shall and will warrant and forever ______ by these Presents the said Jacob Smith for himself his heirs, Executors and Administrators doth also further covenant and agree to and with the said Jesse Buzan his Heirs & that he the said Jacob Smith his Heirs Executors or Administrators shall and will at any time or times hereafter whenever thereunto required give grant make over and convey by any other Conveyances that may be Lawfully devised or required by the said Jesse Buzan’s Counsel learned in the Law the two hundred and thirty three Acres of Land with the Appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said Jesse Buzan his Heirs and Assigns in as full free and absolute a manner as can by words express according to the true intent and meaning of these presents In witness whereof the said Jacob Smith and Susanna his Wife hath hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.

I acknowledge to have received from Mr. Jesse Buzan before the signing of the written conveyance the sum of One hundred and five pounds Current Lawful Money of Virginia it being in Consideration of the within tract of Land & premises
