Matthias came to America on the ship Friendship which arrived at Philadelphia on 16 October 1727.

The will of Matthias Switzer of Coventry556 which was signed 08 May 1773 and proved 02 November 1789, mentions “my 6 children”: oldest son Jacob, second son Ulrick, Matthias, Rudolph, Brasbra and Elizabeth; and “my grandchildren by daughter Catherine” (apparently deceased); executors son Jacob and Henry Tasher; Witnesses jacob Light and Thomas Hockley.
