His son Stephen was born a month after Albert’s death. No information is available on what became of his sons. It is possible that they later relocated to Pennsylvania or that they took the last name of Maynard.
Military
Enlisted at Norwich, Connecticut in the 21st Connecticut Volunteer Infantry, Company F, on August 18, 1862. He was one of 43 enlisted men who were wounded on June 3, 1864, in the Battle of Cold Harbor, Virginia. He was discharged for disability on January 20, 1865.

Albert Rudd served in the same regiment and company as two of the sons of his older brother, Henry Rudd. Henry Rudd’s son alfred was a musician in the 21st and the other son, Oliver, was injured at the Battle of Arlington Heights in 1862.
