Rolla, MO — Dorothy O. Baker, 88, of Rolla, formerly of Champaign, died Thursday (May 3, 2001) at home.
Graveside services will be a 1 p.m. Monday at Mount Olive Cemetery, Mayview.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Null and Son Funeral Home, Rolla.
Mrs. Baker was born May 26, 1912, at Savoy, a daughter of Sam and Effie Harry Somers. She married Kenneth L. Baker on March 20, 1933. He died May 1, 1989.
Surviving are a son, Kenneth Baker, Jr. of Houston; two daughters, Jalna Turner of Ben Wheeler, Texas, and Susan Dye of Rolla; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceeded in death by four brothers.
Mrs. Baker was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Champaign and the University of Illinois Alumni Association, and a lifetime member of the Prairie View Wednesday Club, Savoy. She was a volunteer fund-raiser for the American Cancer Society and Easter Seals.
