This year died Ingild, the brother of Ina.” Ina reigned thirty-seven winters, fought at Wanborough, 715, and in 728, “went to Rome, and there gave up the ghost.” “A.D. 688. Ina was the son of Cenred, Cenred of Ceolwald; Ceolwald was the brother of Cynegils; and both were the sons of Cuthwin, who was the son of Ceawlin; Ceawlin was the son of Cynric, and Cynric of Cerdic . . . 854. And Ethelwulf was the son of Egbert, Egbert of Eahlmund, Eahlmund of Eafa, Eafo of Eoppa, Eoppa of Ingild; Ingild was the brother of Ina, King of the West Saxons, who held that kingdom thirty-seven winters, and afterwards went to St. Peter, where he died.
