Sir John Bayntun was Knight of the Shire of Wiltshire. He was knighted before 1 May 1434 and from 1440 until his death was a member of a long series of commissions. In 1443-44 Sir John was sheriff of Wilts, and in 1445, 1446, and 1449, he represented his county in Parliament. His home is consistently recorded as Falston.
