Moses Payne admitted to full communion 21 Jul 1697 and his wife admitted from church in Dorchester 6 Aug 1699. He was elected tithingmen 1699, 1703, 1706, 1709, 1710, 1714, fenceviewer 1703, 1708, town treasurer 1717-21, 1726. He resided apparently on his father’s homestead. He was in King Philip’s War 1675. He was elected Deacon probably about 1723 to succeed Benjamin Savil.

Will of Deacon Moses payne, dated Aug. 24, 1744, proved Jul. 15, 1746: To son Moses, son in law Samuel hayward (discomposed), daus. Mary Hayward, Hannah wife of Joseph Nightingale & her children, Sarah Adams, and rights in his father Pierce’s land in Dorchester.
