He was active in town affairs. Chelmsford records refer to him up through 1720. The original Keyes homestead (in the part of Chelmsford that became Westford) was still standing and in good repair as late as 1899.

Will: mentions wife Joannah, eldest daughter Mirriam Lofson, daughters Lydia Mudge and Joannah Fitch, grandson Jonathan Keyes, son Joseph dec. executor Josiah Sawtell of Groton, and witnesses Jacob Wright, Andrew Spaulding, and Ephraim Wright.
