Eve was not married at the time of her father’s death. Although she was given a guardian as a minor over age 14, she signed the estate settlement in her own German script. About a year later she married Henry Clapper. Their children were: Mary (m. Samuel B. Rhodes), Frances (m. George Shingler), Elizabeth (m. Adam B. Bowers), Nancy (m. John Brumbaugh Smith), Susan (m. Mason Howard) and Eve (m. William Stiffler). The family remained in Huston Township, Blair County. Henry died 28 March 1863, and Eve died 12 May 1870. Both were interred in Clapper Cemetery at Clappertown [Liebegott Collection, Vol. 46, p. 6].66
