Silas acquired quite a bit of land in Burritt by federal land grants. I believe his son may have been named Chapman Rudd as a man by that name marries a Betsey Rodd, 29 Sep 1842 in Winnebago Co, IL. He may have died in a few years as Mrs. Betsey Rudd marries Calvin A. Hemenway, 3 Sep 1848, Winnebago Co, IL.69
