The institution (church appointment) of Robert Maverick to Awliscombe does not appear, but it occurred before June 18, 1561, the date of his first appearance in the Awliscombe registers. Richard Bacon took over from him, and Robert’s son, Peter, took over from Bacon. Perhaps the institution of Robert Maverick and that of his successor Bacon were vacancy institutions, made by the archbishop, and in that case they may have been recorded at Canterbury.472, pgs. 145, 150-155, 473, pgs. 232-239
