William Allright, the elder, was of Arborfield, Berkshire, England, when he made his will 18 March 1666.

He mentioned his wife, “Jone,” who had a sister Alice Wright. While the only Arborfield registers which have been deposited date from 1705, there is a marriage index from 1580.

He was a yeoman, or farmer, in Arborfield, which is located about three kilometers west of Barkham. In his will he remembered, aside from the children listed below, a cousin James Brant, and three children of a son-in-law, Edward Ellis,
