Bert McNeese
Fairmout — Bert Wilbert McNeese, 74, of Fairmount died at 8:23 a.m. Thursday (April 13, 2006) at home.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sunset Funeral Home and cremtion Service, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville. The Rev. Michael Roberts will officiate. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 210. Burial will be at a later date in Sunset Memorial Park, Danville.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. McNeese was born May 28, 1931, in Indianola, a son of Bert and Nancy White McNeese. He married Doris Smith on Jan. 3, 1953, in Covington, Ind. She survives.
Survivors also include two sons, Ernie McNeese of Fairmount and Roger McNeese of Homer; a daughter, Brenda Kiest of Centerville, Tenn.; two sisters, Dorothy Bottom of Newman and Naomi High of Indianola; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by several brothers and a great-granddaughter.
Mr. McNeese was a mill wright at General Motors for 41 years and retired in 1992. He served in the Army from 1951 to 1953 in the Korean conflict. He was a member of UAW Local 579 and enjoyed yardwork, gardening, the outdoors, drinking coffee, hunting and fishing.
