Young Andrew Potts, II married a Miss Zilhart. The size of the family is not known. They had 3 sons - John, Andrew III, and Joseph who moved with their parents from Maryland to Georgetown, Kentucky and from there to Jefferson County, Kentucky. Here, their father, Andrew Potts, II bought a farm on Beargrass Creek where Louisville now stands and he lived at this place until his death in 1825; he was 72 years old. His wife died here and they were buried on their farm on Beargrass Creek, Jefferson County, Kentucky in the heart of Louisville. Beargrass Creek then emptied into the Ohio River about where Third Street now is.
