Roland Smith
Roland T. Smith, 79, of Mountain Home, Ark., formerly of Urbana, died Saturday (June 18, 1983) at Mountain Home.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Weaver-Henderson Funeral Home, Urbana. Burial will be at Mount Olive Cemetery, Maryview.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith was born Oct. 7, 1903, at Urbana, a son of Ralph and Ethel Harry Smith. He married Hazel Hartle Feb. 11, 1924. Sue survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Gordon E. Smith and Alan K. Smith, both of Urbana; four daughters, Sylvia Smith of Urbana, Mrs. M. G. (Nina) Mecum and Mrs. Donald (Celia) Snyder, both of Champaign, and Mrs. H. R. (Norma) Elkins of Bisbee, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Other survivors include two brothers, Harry Smith of Fairmount and Eugene Smith of Largo, Fla.; and a sister, Mrs. T. M. (Mary) Stevens of Urbana.

Mr. smith attended Urbana High School and was emloyed at the Peoria and Eastern Railroad as a yard clerk for 27 years. He also operated Reliable Produce Co. for 30 years.

He had written and published several short stories and poems.
