Arch Hartle married Opal Elizabeth Stewart of Urbana, who had come here with her parents from Albion, Illinois. She was 16 years of age when they married. Her first pregnancy resulted in an involuntary abortion. Her second pregnancy was terminated October 7, 1903 with the birth of a son, Edward Everett, who died in his sleep (probably of pneumonia, as he had a cold or crib death) when six weeks old. He is buried in the old cemetery at Farmer City, Illinois. Their daughter, Hazel, was born 12 Dec 1904 at Farmer City. Arch had been working in and around farmer City for $25 a month ahd had also helped in a bakery there.
His uncle, William L. Rudd, and his brother, Len, had been after him to come to Chicago, so in the fall of 1905 he went. They had an automobile business, selling, renting and servicing electric cars.
About 1907 Arch and Opal moved to the Argenta farm and lived with Grandmother and Grandfather Hartle.
