“To all Christian People to whom these presents shall Or may Come, I, Mary Hasbrouck, widow of ye Town of The New Paltz of ye County of Ulster and province of New York, Sendeth Greeting. Know ye that I, Mary Hasbrouck For and in Consideration of the Love, Good Will and affection Which I have and do bear towards my loving Grandson Abraham hasbrouck of Gillford in ye County of Ulster and Province of New York, Have Given and Granted and by These Presents do fully, freely, clearly and absolutely: Give and Grant unto Said Abraham Hasbrouck his heirs and assigns all that one certain piece and percel of land Scituated Lying and being on ye East side of Paltz Creek or River, Begining at ye Creek side by a Certain fence, at a cleard Field of the Widow Elsje Hasbrouck, and then Runing into the Woods, East south East fifty one chains and a half and Runing from Thence North by East fifteen Chains and from thence West North West to ye Paltz River and then all along Sd River to ye place Where it Began; Together will all ye Right title, interest, Claim and Demand Whatsoever which I now have, or Which any or either of my Heirs, Executors, Administrators or Assigns may Hereafter have of to or in the Sd Granted premises or any part thereof. To have and to Hold the said piece or percel of Land; until him ye Sd. Abraham Hasbrouck his Heirs and assigns forever; absolutely; without any Manner of Condition as I, Widow Mary Hasbrouck have Fully freely and absolutely and of my own accord set and put In further Testimony. With his family he fled to Manheim in the lower Palatinate to escape persecution of the French Protestants. He probably resided in Holland for a while, also in England, serving in the English army with Edmund Andros, later Governor of New York. In 1675 he landed at Boston and joined his brother at Esopus. Christian Deyo and his family accompanied him. Abraham died 17 Mar 1717 of appoplexy. He was married at Hurley on 17 Nov 1676 to Maria Deyo. She was born 1653 at Mutterstadt, a town six miles southwest of Manheim and died 27 Mar 1741 at the age of 83. She was the daughter of Christian Deyo and Jeanne Verbeau. He was commissioned Lieutentant of a company of foot for New Paltz and Kingston 30 Aug 1685. In 1689 he was appointed Captain. He was a member of the Assembly in 1698-1699.229
