Another son, James (Jacobus) Swartwout, married Anne Gumaer, also a daughter of Peter Gumaer. He resided where Col. Peter P. Swartwout now resides, and became major f a regiment of militia, which extended over a wide district of territory in the present county of Orange.182, pg 50
