“Swartwout Chronicles”: When Jesijntje married Jan Van Vliet, Jr. on 3/11/1725, she was given the portion of land which her father had left to her.

“Index to Patriot’s Spouses” includes Jesyntje married to Jan Van Fleet mentioned in Volume I, page 700 of Patriot’s Index.

From “Portrait and Biographical Record of Orange co., NY,” page 895, owned by Harold Reed, friendship under biography of Benjamin Van Fleet who was born 5/21/1826 son of Thomas and Elizabeth (Cuddeback) Van Fleet. Thomas Van Fleet, father of Benjamin was born on old home farm where his son Solomon now resides (1895), his birth occurring on 19th Oct. 1788 and about 1819 he purchased land where our subject lives ... ancestor Adriaen Gerritsen Van Vliet is part of Ulster County history. Among Adriaen’s children were Machtel who was born in Utrecht who first married Barent Van Borsum and later, September 18, 1684 married Jan Jancob Stol, of Kingston. Second child, Jan, wedded Judith Hossey and the third in the family, also named Jan, by his union with Jesyntje Swartwout became the father of Jacobus Van Vliet, the grandfather of our subject.
