1Samuel Richardson was chosen a selectman of Woburn April 13, 1644 at the first town meeting and held the office in 1645, 1649, 1650, and 1651. In 1645 he paid the highest tax of any man in Woburn. He married 1633 Joanna (???). He died march 25, 1658 intestate. The widow and oldest son, John, were appointed administrators. The inventory was filed March 29, 1658. Lieutentant John Wyman was appointed guardian of the sons, John and Joseph, June 25, 1658. Joanna died June 20, 1666 in Woburn, Mass. Her will was dated June 20, 1666; proved 1677. She gave her real estate to her sons, John, Joseph, Samuel, and Stephen. She gave her clothing to her daughter, Elizabeth. She mentions Mary Mousall as her daughter.
