Wedding vows were exchanged recently between Krista Lombard of Santa Cruz and Chad Furtney, a 1988 graduate of Taft High School.

Following the honeymoon the couple will reside in Santa Cruz.

Ashley Beaty and Troy Gessel


Ashley Beaty and Troy Gessel of Taft, California became husband and wife on November 24th in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino at 3 p.m.

There were about 20 friends and family present at the wedding. Ashley and Troy are now living in Taft.

Minderll

Buffy Ranee Wynn and George W. Minder III


Buffy Ranee Wynn of Taft and George W. Minder III also of Taft were married on May 18, 2002 at 6:00 p.m. Saturday evening at The Fort in Taft California.

It was a family ceremony with the couples three children taking part in the ceremony. There were 130 guests in attendance. The Presiding official was Tom S. White.

The Brides attendants and hometowns were Poppi Woosley maid of honor, sister of the bride from Taft. Brenda Price, of Taft. Dee Dee Brown of Bakersfield, Catelynn Woosley, niece of the bride also of Taft. 5 year-old Chloe Synn, daughter of bride was the flower girl. The bridesmaids wore lavender chiffon and carried lavender hydrangeas and pink roses. The bride wore an off the shoulder hand beaded gown with rosettes down the back and train. Her veil was a crown of rhinestones and ceramic roses. She carried a bouquet of three-dozen white roses. The best man and ushers was Eric Ventura, Best Man, Groom's brother-in-law of San Diego. Ushers were: Steven May, groom's cousin of Nipomo, California. Curtis McClellan, Pearsall, Texas and 12 year-old George W. Minder IV groom's son of Taft.

Camryn Richardson, was ring bearer, bride's nephew of Taft. The couples one-year-old son Brody escorted the bride's mother complete in his own tuxedo with tails.

Buffi Ranee parents are Mike and Mickey Wynn of Taft. Buffi graduated from Taft Union High School and Lyles College of Beauty in 1994. She attended She attended Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo. Now works as a hairdresser at Personal Style.

The bridegroom's parents are Christine Thompson of Tollhouse, California.

George attended Arroyo Grande High School until 1989. He has lived in Taft since 1990. George now works at Baker Atlas in the gun-loading department and has been there two years.

The couple are now at home in Taft.

Mary Suthard and William Robbins


Mary B. Robbins and William D. Robbins I were married on January 11, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Pastor Tom White's home.

Mary graduated in 1997 and is currently a drug secretary at the Fort. The bride had two attendants, both of Taft. The brides parents are Kent and Milea Suthard of Taft.

William graduated in 1997 and is currently employed at Watkins Construction. The bride-grooms parents are Bonnie Maness and Don Robbins of Fellows. The bridegroom's best man was Donald Robbins of Shafter, California.

The couple honeymooned in Las Vegas, Nevada and is now living in Fellows.

Schneidt

Mark Schnaidt and Cynthia Matusmura


Wedding vows were exchanged October 26 in Woodland Hills between Mark Schnaidt and Cynthia Matsumura before 70 guests at Villa Piacere Restaurant.

Schnaidt is the son of Oscar and Sharon Schnaidt of Taft. He is employed by Chevron Texaco and is a 1976 graduate of Taft High.

Cynthia is a 1978 graduate of Taft College. Best man was Jared Schnaidt of Taft while Kyle Schnaidt served as Groomsman.

Following a cruise to the Mexican Riviera the couple will make their home in Woodland Hills.

Mr

Michelle Fomby - Leo Tarpley


On October 12, 2002, Michelle Fomby and Leo Tarpley were married at the Historic Fort in Taft surrounded by 320 of their family and friends.

The Bride wore an ivory Battenberg lace gown. Under a lighted gazebo, the couple exchanged vows they wrote themselves. Stacey Gee, the Bride's childhood friend, served as Matron of honor; Bryan Sellman as the Best Man; and his son, Blake Sellman as the Ring Bearer. Grace Johnson and Marissa Jahnson, the Groom's Nieces, were Flower Girl and Guest book Attendant; and Brent Ortlieb and Jerry Evans were Ushers.

A dinner reception followed the ceremony, which included a beautiful three-tiered cake made by the groom's Aunt Erma Wilson, of Cake Crafters.

The Groom is a 1985 graduate of Taft Union High School and the Bride is a 1986 graduate of Taft Union High School, where they first dated 20 years ago. The Groom is employed as a mechanic at West Kern Water District in Taft and the Bride is employed as a Credit Analyst at San Joaquin Bank in Bakersfield.

Following a fabulous honeymoon cruise to Catalina and Ensenada, Mexico, the couple is at home in Bakersfield.

Vohnout

Christopher Vohnout and Michelle Billingsley


Michelle Billingsley and Christopher Vohnout were married May 26, 2002, at the Jefferson Street Mansion in Benicia. A reception followed the ceremony there.

Michelle is the daughter of Brad and Linda Billingsley of Lafayette. She graduated from Carondelet High School, Concord, in 1992; earned a bachelor's degree at UC Santa Barbara in 1996; and a Juris Doctorate degree at McGeorge School of Law, Sacramento, in 1999. Michelle is a deputy district attorney for Orange County, practicing in Santa Ana.

Christopher is the son of Edward and Rita Vohnout of Pismo Beach. He graduated from Taft Union High School in 1988 and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1994. Christopher is controller at Island Data in Carlsbad, California.

The newlyweds honeymooned in Paris, Venice and Rome, and live in Rancho Santa Margarita.

Waldrop

Tara Everson and Scott Waldrop


Mr. and Mrs. Paul Riley and Mr. Tom Everson, stepfather of the bride are pleased to announce the wedding of their daughter, Tara Everson of Taft to Scott Waldrop of Taft, son of Ron and Dottie Waldrop.

The bride and groom were married at, "The Little Church of the West" in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 7, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. with 30 guests present.

The bride graduated from Fillmore High School in 1994 and is presently a full time mom. The bridesmaid was Shay Marie Riley (sister of the bride) from Taft, California. The bride wore an empire waistline princess gown and a rose bouquet. Myrna Everson, the bride's grandmother specially made the bride's gown.

The groom graduated from Taft High School in 1995. He participated in college baseball at Taft and Coalinga. He is now presently working for J.E. Merrit/Chevron Texaco as a steam operator. The best man was Ryan Head of Bakersfield, California and the usher was Jordan Gilmore, son of the bride.

The couple honeymooned in Las Vegas, Nevada and the happy couple is now living in Taft, California.

Zielsdorf

Andrea Leigh Torczon and Kevin John Zielsdorf


Andrea Leigh Torczon and Kevin John Zielsdorf were married on June 8, 2002 at St. Francis Church in Bakersfield.

Andrea is the daughter of Margaret Torczon of Bakersfield, and the late Gene Torczon.

Kevin is the son of Jeff and Wendy Zielsdorf of Ojai, California.

Andrea attended Taft Union High School, earned a Bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology at California State University Chico and is working towards her Master's degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology at California State University Fresno. She is currently employed by the Kern County Superintendent of Schools office.

Kevin attended Nordhoff High School in Ojai, California and has attended California State University Chico and Oxnard City College. He is currently employed by Accurate Trenching in Bakersfield.

The wedding was officiated by Father Craig Harrison. The bride was given in marriage by her brother Joel Torczon, the Maid of Honor was Nicole Watson. Sarah Luke, Johanna Zielsdorf, and Kate Zielsdorf served as bridesmaids. The Best Man Mike Zielsdorf. Brent Bihari, Spike Loy, Mark Hitchcock and Nick Boccali served as groomsmen.

A dinner and dance followed the ceremony at Hodel's. Friends and loved ones came from far and wide to share this special day with Kevin and Andrea thank everyone for making their wedding joyful and memorable.
