Doverly School District #2794

Saskatchewan One Room School Project provides an online history for current generations to enjoy, preserve, and experience, our historical educational, architectural, and cultural, heritage.

Winnifred Ritthaler was raised in Saskatchewan during the 1930's.
Her father, Philipp Ritthaler, was originally from Prussia.
Philipp Ritthaler was the chair of the Doverly School District
#2794 in the Municipality of Kelross. At a young age, Winnifred
learned to write English, and was needed as the school secretary
at twelve years old. For a school district, Doverly was fairly
large with between 50 and 55 students during the 1930's.

The Municipality of Kellross # 247 includes the towns of Kelliher, Lestock and Leross. The Doverly School District #2794 was near Leross. Leross was located at Section 11 - Township 27 Range 14 West of the 2nd Meridian. The R. M. of Kellross was about 40 or 50 miles from Yorkton, Sk.B
