Louise Laframboise- (1810- )
Like other Mothers, Louise Laframboise
knew tears.
“I am losing my sons, grandsons,
maybe more I fear.”
We are losing our homes, there is harm
all around
We are becoming casualties; no peace to
be found
The Battle of Duck Lake claimed Isidore
Dumont
My son was shot while negotiating for
our wants.
He left many who will grieve the loss
of his care.
In sadness we stare, life looks so
empty and bare.
My dear grandsons are dying to, Pierre
now gone
And others in our clan battle the odds
so wrong-
The Battle of Fish Creek is Gabriel’s
military test
Waging the impossible with success;
he’s the best!
Eduoard is fighting for life at Fish
Creek, I’ve heard
Champagne, Carriere and Nault- I’ve
heard no word
My life is on hold, it is hard to
breath so ill at ease-
My babies are dying for orders
impossible to please.
