The North Queens Heritage Society has preserved the Heritage House, once occupied by the Douglas family and one of the oldest houses in the community of Caledonia. They have restored and renovated it for use as a headquarters and to house exhibits and activities relating to the natural history and human settlement of northern Queens County.

The Heritage House maintains a small research centre for genealogical research in the northern district of Queens County. Genealogical enquiries are accepted.
