Born September 6, 1919, in Halifax, he was a son of the late Walter and Ethel (Hiltz) Isner. He was a member of St. John's Anglican Church, Halifax. He and his brother were co-owners of W.D. Isner & Sons Meat Market on Gottingen Street for many years. He was a member of the Athole Masonic Lodge No. 15 AF & AM for 54 years. He was an honorary member of the Halifax Fire Department and the Halifax Police Department and also enjoyed boxing and harness racing. She was a dedicated and loyal volunteer of Northwood Manor for many years and also a member of many groups, organizations and clubs of which she especially enjoyed the Bridge Club. She also found comfort and enjoyed participating in the Outreach Program at Mount Saint Vincent Mother House, Bedford. She was loved by many and will be forever missed. An active member of the Pleasantville Baptist Church, he served on many boards and committees and of which he was an honourary deacon at the time of his death. He was employed by Hebb Motors and Fairway Chev Olds prior to his retirement. He is survived by his wife, the former Harriet Lantz; sons, Rev. Glendon (Beverly), Seattle, Washington; Rev. Born on April 18, 1930 in Dartmouth, she was a daughter of the late Bernard and Elizabeth (Cave) McKellop. She will always be remembered for her zest for life and quick wit. For many years her twinkling smile greeted those in search of an elusive book at the Nova Scotia School Book Bureau. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling to warmer climates and the youthful company of her granddaughters, Gwenna, Jill and Ellen. Born in Lunenburg, he was a son of the late Samuel and Margaret (Tanner) Clarke. In his earlier years he was a photographer with Knickle's Studio, Lunenburg and later was employed on gypsum boats. He then worked with National Sea Products Ltd. Lunenburg division until his retirement. He was a member of St. James Anglican Church, Mahone Bay. Samuel was an outdoorsman, enjoying camping and was an avid model airplane builder. As a boy of 11 years he went to work in the woods and later began farming. He spent the rest of his life in woods work and farming until his death on Sunday. Herman's family gathered at South Shore Regional Hospital to say their good-byes. He was called home, to heaven, to be with his wife, the former Lottie Le Tompkin; daughters in infancy, June, Viola, Ethel; sons, Kenneth, Howard, Sydney, Arnold. Beloved husband of Jean (Tommy) Thompson and loving father to Linda Ann Hurst, Bridgewater and Donna Marie Miller, Wilmington, Delaware. He is survived by granddaughter, Rebecca Jane Miller, Wilmington, Delaware; grandsons, Timothy John "T.J." Miller, also of Delaware and Kevin Andrew Hurst, Bridgewater. Born in Hunts Point, he was a son of the late Rebecca Jane (Ramey) and Christopher Lockhart Frellick. He was predeceased by sister, Gertrude Frellick, Hunts Point and brother, Douglas, Arlington, Mass. While residing in Halifax he was employed for 36 years at Purdy Bros. Marine Engineer and Ship Repairing Company. He held several positions including Accountant, Secretary Treasurer and Chief Accountant of Purdy Bros. Ltd., and associated companies of Webb Engineering Ltd. and Marine Electric, being a director of each of these firms. Mr. Frellick was vice-president of Purdy Bros Ltd. and it subsidiaries at the time of his retirement in 1975. He was a respected and valued member of the business community. Mr. Frellick was a former member of the Armdale Yacht Club, the Waegwoltic Club, the Saraguay Club and the Junior Board of Trade. He was also a charter member of the Halifax Toastmasters Club. Mr. Frellick was a Mason member of Burns Lodge 10, Scottish Rite 32nd degree and Shriner of Philae Temple of Halifax. Following his retirement he and his wife moved to their new home, The Homestead, in Oakland, Lunenburg County. There he pursued his interests in boating, gardening and membership in the local cribbage and investment clubs. In later years he resided in Bridgewater. A man of his word, he was respected by his many friends. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandparent whose first concern was always for his family. We will miss him dearly. A lifelong member of St. John's Anglican Church, Lilla sang in the choir for over 40 years and was a member of the Anglican Women's Association. She was also a member of the Nova Scotia Liberal Association and she worked for a number of years with the Colchester Regional Hospital Auxiliary. She was a mother of four sons, Jack (Lorraine) and Arthur (Elizabeth) Davy, all of Truro; Robert (Cathy) Morash, Walkerton, Ont.; Charles (Virginia) Morash, Las Vegas, Nevada. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by husbands, Arthur Cyril Davy and Charles Gordon Morash. Born February 23, 1902, in New Albany, Annapolis Co., he was the last surviving member of the family of William James and Bessie Mae (Acker) Whynot (New Albany). He moved to Massachusetts as a young man where he worked in the general Boston area in house construction, at the Boston Navy Yard during the Second World War, and later after the war with the Raytheron Company from which he retired. Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. She was a former member of the Sharon St. John United Church, Stellarton and an adherent of Wesley United Church, Eureka and a member of the U.C.W. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. He served in the Second World War and came home to become a successful businessman, running his own trucking firm, Tanners' Transfer. He was a member of Scotia Branch Legion. He was a man who loved life, was a great joker and loved to make people laugh. He loved his hockey, playing cards and driving all over the province with his many friends and family and he loved to hunt in his younger years. He was very involved in St. Theresa Church when his family was young and drove the Sisters of Charity to Hubbards to teach the children every Saturday for five years. When he retired he lived in Bayswater for 12 years and was very active in the Seasiders and made many more lifelong friends there. While he lived in Bayswater he raised chickens, had horses, cats and dogs, as he loved animals. He will be mourned sorrowfully by all. He now is at peace with God. He leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years, Alma (Croke); sons, Arthur Russell Jr. and his wife Paulette (Nowlan), Thomas Walter and his wife Veronica (Surette); daughters, Lorraine and husband Gerry Willis, Helen Marie and husband Marven MacKenzie, all of Halifax; as well as his remaining sisters, Alice (O'Toole), Clara (Diddy Murray) and husband Norm; very close nephews and nieces. He will be sadly missed by all his 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sisters, Dorothy Veith, Etta Zinck and his only brother, Joe; three grandsons. After retiring from Farmer's he went to work with Baxter's Dairy, Dartmouth. In his younger years he enjoyed sailing, hunting and fishing and in his later years he and his wife, Hazel, took up golfing and bowling. He was a life member of the Hartlen's Point Golf Club and a shareholder in the Eden Golf Club in Paradise. Surviving are a daughter, with whom he lived, Marilyn McPhee, Dartmouth; son, John and wife Donna, Lawrencetown, Annapolis Co.; sister, Ruby Searle, Ocean View Manor, Eastern Passage; grandchildren, Tiffani Balcolm, Kristopher Balcolm and Chase Simpson. Born in Bridgewater, he was the younger son of the late Dr. A.G.G. Hirtle and Grace (Grimm) Hirtle. Following in his father's footsteps, "Art" attended Acadia University, graduating with a B.Sc. in 1940 and a certificate in Applied Science in 1941. He joined Thompson Brothers Machinery Co. Limited (Steel & Engine Products Limited) in Liverpool in June 1941, retiring as Plant Superintendent in 1986. An avid sportsman and musician, he participated in track and field, baseball and hockey in his youth. He was past president of the Liverpool Golf Club and of the Liverpool Curling Club, and an honorary member of the Maritime Seniors' Golf Association. Art played clarinet and tenor sax in numerous orchestras and in the Bowater Mersey Band for many years. He believed in community service having served on the Liverpool School Board and Town Council, and as a Past President of the Kinsmen and K-40 Clubs. Art was a faithful member of the Liverpool United Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, the former Edythe Fraser; his daughters, Janet Muttart (Peter), Starrs Point, Kings Co.; Margaret Burns, Halifax; and his son, Arthur F. Born in London, England on August 8, 1920, she was a daughter of the late John Ross and Mabel Ross (Hearn). After coming to Canada in 1946 as a war bride, she became very involved in community work besides being very successful as a self-employed Avon Representative. She was a member of St. Jamesƒ Anglican Church, Mahone Bay and for 40 years served as superintendent for the St. Jamesƒ Sunday School. For many years she wrote newspaper columns for Lighthouse Publishing and she also reported for CKBW radio station, Bridgewater. Her volunteer work also saw her as President of Mahone Bay Home and School Association; leader and member of the St. Jamesƒ Anglican Church Women; member of the Lunenburg County Inter-Church Council; member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 49, Mahone Bay; Executive Member of the Lunenburg Centre Progressive Conservative Association; Coordinator for the Mahone Bay unit of the Canadian Red Cross. Victoria also received special recognition as one of the founding members of the Lunenburg County Laubach Literacy Council and for several years served on the Advisory Board for Nova Scotia Social Services. She is survived by her daughters, Valerie Page (Mark Sutherland), Mahone Bay; Yvonne Ritcey (Lowell), Fancy Lake; Teresea Thompson (Stan), Berwick and step-daughter, Garnice Bowyer (Cal), Kitchener, Ont.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Stanbury, Horam, England; Marion Pearson, Edmonton, Alta. and Betty Hunter, California.
