Mayflower Families Research

Index to Research Articles & Updates

References to new information appearing in genealogical journals pertaining to our Mayflower ancestors will be found at this site. This will help those researching Mayflower lines to know if research has already been done on their specific family. Research articles will be cited under the heading of the Mayflower family to which it refers. References to new articles will be added as time permits.  In most cases, a brief description of the article will be given.nbsp;Additions to these lists (particularly from NGSQ, NYGBR and TG being three that I do not subscribe to) will be gratefully accepted and appreciated.

Abbreviations to journals are as follows: MD (Mayflower Descendant); MQ (Mayflower Quarterly); NEA and AA (New England Ancestors, American Ancestors); NGSQ (National Genealogical Society Quarterly); NYGBR (New York Genealogical and Biographical Record); NEHGR (New England Historical and Genealogical Register); TAG (The American Genealogist); TG (The Genealogist).

Researchers should also be aware of two additional important sources for listings of research articles. In 2001, NEHGR began a yearly compilation of a broader scope, New England research articles, entitled "New England Articles in Genealogical Journals", appearing in each July issue. In 2002 The Mayflower Descendant began a yearly listing of Mayflower research articles, called "Seen Elsewhere" which includes journals from Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Connecticut.
