My gg-grandfather (Thomas Eldred
Vogler) and James P. Vogler were brothers and
sons of John Thomas Vogler and Sarah Parks.
Eldred's house was to the right of James. James
and family lived with Eldred during the
construction of the house in this picture - PHIL "James
Sr was a Master Mariner. Jim Jr was a local
merchant & insurance salesman. Del was an
electrician. Jessie & Ethel lived Lunenburg.
Ethel was a school teacher. Judson lived at
Voglers Cove and in BC. James' house is now
occupied by Dave Nichols. Ethel was a graduate of
Lunenburg Academy & the Normal College. She
taught in Queen's & Lunenburg Counties before
returning to school at Halifax Business College.
She taught at UNB Business College & Horton
Academy, Wolfville. In 1884 J.P. Vogler had the
schooner "Jessie M. Vogler" built at
Vogler's Cove." - (author unknown)
