Parties who have sold their deal to the R. W. Kinsman Company Ltd., are shipping it this week.

The catch of shad this season is the smallest ever known. The season is now over and the seines are being taken out.

Among tourists in this place this summer might be mentioned Prof. Butler of Kingston Ont.

Miss Ressa Thorpe, of Marblehead, Mass. is visiting her mother, Mrs. Selina Thorpe.

Mrs. Charles Elk, who has been visiting friends in this place for the past few weeks, expects to return to her home in Chelsea, Mass. about Sept. 1st.

The school of North Scotts Bay opened on Monday the 22nd, with Miss Josie Roscoe of East Halls Harbour, as teacher.

On Saturday evening last, Owen, son of Mr. Rufus Thorpe, started from home to go on board the tug Millie K. It being dark he walked off the bank which is about 12 feet high. He met with no greater accident than a wetting and a sprained wrist.
