Hugh McKinley Nesbitt, Berwick, passed away at Western Kings Memorial Hospital, Berwick, Thursday, August 8, following an illness of several weeks.

He was the son of the late Robert and Mary (Coleman) Nesbitt, of Grafton, Kings Co., where he was born 88 years ago. Mr. Nesbitt was a member of the Covenanter Church, Grafton.

He owned and operated a large farm at Tompkins, Sask., for approximately thirty years, after which he retired and came to live in Berwick, where he has since resided.

Mr. Nesbitt was twice married. His first wife, the former Dr. Mary McFall, Somerset, died in 1958. His second marriage was in 1964 to the former Mrs. Nellie Sollows of Port Maitland, who survives him. Also one daughter, Margaret (Mrs. W. D. Arnott), Port Credit, Ont.; two sons: Robert and John, Calgary, Alberta, and five granddaughters.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Berwick United Church with Rev. A. F. Whiston officiating. Mrs. Roland Woodworth presided at the organ. Carl Best, Waterville, was soloist and sang two selections, "The Lord’s My Shepherd," and "Still, Still With Thee," with Mrs. William Durno, Cambridge, accompanist.

Pallbearers were Fred Best, Harold Calkin, John Quigley, Roland Woodworth, Fred Walsh and Harold Morse.

Honorary pallbearers were J. L. Fraser, Earle Spicer and Karl White.

Interment was in the family lot in Berwick cemetery.
