The Victoria-Day sports, held under the auspices of the Pastime Club, were well attended. Special trains brought many excursionists from Halifax, Parrsboro, Lunenburg, and Bridgewater. In the evening a concert was held, the Young Ladies’ Dramatic Club presenting one of their plays, "Not a Man in the House." They were assisted by Miss Foster, of Halifax, Miss Lynds, of Acadia Seminary, and Mr. Busillio, of London. Their solos were much enjoyed. St. Patrick’s Band, of Halifax, furnished the instrumental music.

Mr. T. R. Robertson, with his family, spent the early part of the week, guests of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lovitt.

Miss Marion Forrest, of Halifax, and Miss Christina Ritchie, of Annapolis, are guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Carroll.

Mr. James J. Lyons, manager of the Union Bank of Halifax, at St. Peters, C. B., is spending his vacation in town.

Mrs. Brown, of Halifax, is the guest of her daughter, Mrs. J. P. Chipman. She is accompanied by her sister, Miss Wilson, of Falmouth.

Mrs. M. H. Goudge, of Windsor, is the guest of Mrs. F. H. Armstrong, Oakland.

Mrs. W. C. Hamilton, of Grand Pre, and her sister, Miss Harvey, of Wolfville, spent Monday in town.

Mr. Will Dennison, of Digby, was in town on Monday and Tuesday of this week.

Mr. Burgess McKittrick, principal of Lunenburg Academy, spent several days in town, the guest of her father, Mr. James McKittrick.

Mr. A. A. Thomson, of Berwick, spent Victoria Day in town.

Mrs. John Carroll was hostess at a very enjoyable picnic at Hall’s Harbor, on Victoria Day.

Miss Annie Gould, who is a pupil at Acadia Seminary, spent part of the week at her home in town.

Mr. Angus McLeod, principal of the Bridgetown school, spent several days at home this week.

Mr. A. E. H. Chesley left on Monday for a three weeks visit to the St. Louis Exhibition.
