Venerable Kings County Man Dies

The death of John Ross Chipman, of Chipman Corner, Kings County, one of the Annapolis Valley’s most prominent citizens, occurred Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 23, at the old homestead of the Chipman family where he was born on April 17, 92 years ago, and where he has resided all his lifetime.

Mr. Chipman was a highly respected resident of Kings County and belonged to one of the oldest families in this county. His father, Hon. W. H. Chipman, M. P., was a prominent land owner and merchant, and a brother was Col. Lev. D. Chipman, M. P., who succeeded his father as Conservative representative at Ottawa for Kings.
