Isle Haute

Behind the weather-beaten shore of Isle Haute is a more stable, rocky beach. Steep bluffs rise up to a plateau, and fresh springs feed this triangular pond of brackish water. The sheltered beach area is home to Mic Mac archaeological treasures – and the site of much searching for pirate gold. Just to the right of the dig site is other evidence of digging – a large hole suspected of holding the mystery treasure. - (S. Keddy)
