Golden Wedding Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. David B. Eisener, a highly esteemed couple of New Cornwall, Lunenburg County, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on January 26th, when at an afternoon and evening reception they received the felicitations of relatives and friends, together with letters, money and gifts.

The rooms were attractively decorated in gold and white, the bride and groom of fifty years being seated under an arch trimmed with gold and white crepe paper. The afternoon and evening was spent in songs and reading sand social enjoyment.

The guests were admitted by Misses Frances Dauphinee and Gracie Zwicker. The tea table was presided over by Mrs. Welbert Bruhm and Mrs. Arnold Barkhouse, who poured. Assisting in serving and replenishing were Miss Mazie Barkhouse, Mrs. A. W. Dauphinee and Mrs. Clara Aulenback.

Just fifty years ago in the village of Mahone Bay the nuptial knot which united Mary Annette, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Barkhouse of Upper Cornwall and David, son of Mr. and Mrs. Josiah Eisener was tied by Rev. W. Barss. Mr. and Mrs. Eisener have spent their entire married life in New Cornwall. They had three children, Archie of Berwick, the only one present at the anniversary, the others Florence (Mrs. Fred Chambers), Detroit, Michigan, and Leo of Allentown, Pa., were unable to be present due to long distance. There are also ten grandchildren.
