OBITUARY
Arthur W. Borden
The death of Arthur Wellsley Borden, one of Berwicks oldest citizens, occurred at his home o Monday, Dec. 9, after an illness extending over several months. He was the son of the late Josiah and Annie Borden, and was born in Wilmot eighty-six years ago. As a young man he left his native province and was employed in the state of Maine, where he married Julia Blesedale. For a number of years they lived in Seattle, Washington. After his first wife' death he returned to Berwick.
Mr. Borden was a man of strong convictions and a good citizen. He was a faithful member of the Berwick Baptist Church and until the time of his illness was a regular attendant.
Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Eulalia Porter; a daughter, Miss Lucy of the staff of the Maritime Telegraph and Telephone Co., Ltd.; one brother, Thomas of Greenwich, and two sisters, Mrs. C. E. McConnell of Auburndale, mass., and Mrs. Ella Powers, of Windermere. Three brothers predeceased him several years ago.
Funeral service was held from the home on Wednesday afternoon conducted by Rev. D. J. MacPherson, D. D. The floral tributes were numerous and beautiful, testifying to the esteem in which deceased was held. Pall-bearers were Messrs. L. H. Schurman, Frank Daniels, Kempton Johnson and P. L. Morse. Interment was in Berwick Cemetery.

OBITUARY
John N. Cogswell
The death occurred on Thursday, Dec. 12, of John Newton Cogswell, age 79 years, at the home of his son Horace in Waterville, after an illness of eight weeks.
He is survived by his wife and four daughters, Mildred (Mrs. Gordon Porter), of Lansdowne, Digby County; Bertha (Mrs. Oran Ells), of Canning; Phoebe (Mrs. Harry Schofield), of Baxters Harbor; Anna Mae (Mrs. Edward Skinner), of Dartmouth; also six sons, Roy L., of Buffalo, New York; Horace of Waterville; Floyd, at Brooklyn Corner and Archibald, of Berwick, and two brothers, William, at Centreville and Namar at Rockland, mass. There are also 36 grandchildren and 16 greatgrandchildren.
