Identity Of Nova Scotian Slain In California Is Established

There is no further doubt but that the young man found murdered in Paso Ruebles, California, is Brenton Borden, Jr., of Avonport, Kings County. Last week Mr. Borden, father of the dead youth, received a photograph from the authorities of the Californian town which set at rest all doubts and crushed all hopes that the original identification had been a mistake.

Brenton Borden was the victim of a mysterious attack which is credited to a tramp who was afterwards in a running fight shot to death by a posse sent out to arrest him.

Mrs. Borden is seriously ill at her home, so ill that nothing has been told her regarding her son’s tragic end and on this account his funeral will take place in Paso Ruebles.
