Obituary.

MRS. E. W. KAPPELE.

The death, which occurred on the 5th inst., of the wife of Mr. E. W.
Kappele, Manager of Sea Side Park, Harborville, has meant the passing of
a superior Christian lady, and the last member of her immediate family,
once noted in London society. In Mrs. Kappele the traits and manners
that bespoke her noble birth and breeding ever showed themselves. Her
father was once a Professor in Oxford University and she was born in
Barnstyle House, London, E. C. Her advanced education was procured in
France and Germany. After coming to this country Mrs. Kappele became
identified with the Jarvis Street Baptist Church, of Toronto, and was
for many years a member of the popular Quartette of that church. In all
other departments of church activity she also took a most lively
interest.

To those who did not know her intimately Mrs. Kappele appeared rather
reserved, but the closer acquaintanceship discovered in her a woman of
rare refinement, unstinted kindliness and genuine Christian affection.
She was a lover of all God?s creatures, whether flowers, dumb animals or
human beings. To make what are usually considered sacrifices for others
was to Mrs. Kappele the delight of her heart. Such spirits our poor
earth can illy afford to lose, but we will rejoice that it is allowed us
to come under their blissful shadow as we pass on Life?s road. Mr.
Kappele and his children have indeed large consolation in their sorrow
in the precious memory of the character and life of their beloved and
sainted dead. The Lord is good, a very present help in trouble, and He
knoweth them that put their trust in Him.
