Harborville Preparing For Busy Season

Splendid Road To Popular Shore Resort Minimizes Danger And Distance to Motorists Crossing Mountain.

The advertisement of Seaside Park, Harborville, announcing a special menu for Dominion Day, will be found elsewhere in our columns. And that reminds us.

Harborville, as a delightful summer resort, so easily accessible to the people of Berwick and vicinity, is becoming more and more appreciated and particularly so since the completion last summer of the excellent highway across the mountain. The drive from Berwick, which a few years ago was considered more or less hazardous, is now not only entirely safe for the careful motorist, but most pleasant and enjoyable, and can be easily made in from twenty to twenty-five minutes. The road has been widened to about twice its original space, and the greater portion gravelled. Trees and bushes that obscured curves have been cut out, culvert crossings levelled and - except for the Berwick side of the mountain, which requires a substantial covering of gravel - everything has been properly attended to.

It is expected that the present season at the Shore, which already shows indications of having opened, will be an exceptionally busy one. In anticipation of a brisk demand for cottages, Mr. Benj. Bezanson, who owns seven or eight desirable buildings along the Shore Boulevard, has been busy with hammer and saw, from early morning until late at night, getting them in shape for prospective summer vacationists.

A number of new motor boats have made their appearance in the harbor and these, together with the several yachts and sailing craft available, will ensure plenty of adventure for those who possess the hankering for a jolly ride on the ocean wave.

Harborville, as the popular shore resort of this section of the Valley, is, to say the least, a lovely spot to enjoy a summer's vacation and is indeed well worthy of the patronage of the people of Western Kings.

The editor has made arrangements to spend his third consecutive summer at this delightful resort, with its cool and bracing atmosphere, and takes pleasure in recommending it to others who seek a handy retreat and shelter from the sweltering heat of the Valley during the torrid and strenuous months of July and August.
