Harborville’s Au revoir.

Half a hundred of Harborville’s patriotic citizens gathered on Monday night at Sea Side Park for the purpose of wishing God speed, and a safe and glorious return to their boys who have enlisted in the 112th, for active service "Overseas."

Although only a few hours notice had been given of the proposed meeting, the beautiful dining room at the Park was most tastefully and appropriately decorated. This was the work of the invalid sister, (Miss Hilda Aker,) of the first Harborville volunteer, and her mother.

Over the entrance to the dining room from the office, was a large banner with the words "Welcome": the east wall of the dining room carried God Save the King, in large letters of red on a white back ground, the whole entwined with large artificial maple leaves.

Other banners on the walls were "Harborville’s Honor Roll" with the names of the young men as follows: Lloyd Aker, Norman Gould and Bernard Morris, "For Canada and Old England" "Our Boys", "For King and Country" etc.

A delightful evening of music and recitations was enjoyed, Miss Flora Cahill very acceptably rendering a number of recitations, as well as acting as an accompanist on the piano.

The evening was brought to a close shortly after midnight with the presentation of a sum of money to the boys, and personally wishing them Au revoir and the singing of God Save the King.
