Death of Mrs. Noble B. Margeson

After many months of severe suffering borne with Christian patience and resignation to the Divine Will, the wife of Mr. Noble B. Margeson passed on Friday evening last to her rest.

Mrs. Margeson was born in Aylesford in 1844. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Peter Wilson. When a young woman she became the wife of James McMaster, who lived but a short time after their marriage. Some years after she was married to Mr. Noble B. Margeson, then of Harborville, at which place their home remained for some years. Afterward they removed to Somerville, Mass., where they resided until about seven years ago, when they returned to Nova Scotia, living for a time in Bridgetown and later removing to Berwick where, in August last, they purchased a small farm.

Mrs. Margeson has suffered for some years with gangrene. Her foot was amputated some time ago, but the progress of the disease was only temporarily checked. The amputation of the whole limb near the body was decided upon and carried out a few weeks ago but without avail.

Mrs. Margeson leaves two children, Burton B., of Berwick, and Celestia, Mrs. M. L. McLeod, of Bridgetown, and ten grandchildren. She has four brothers, Mr. Elijah Wilson, of Waterville, Mr. Christopher Wilson, of Brockton, Mass., the Rev. E. M. Wilson, Mattapoisett, and Mr. John C. Wilson, of Whitman, and one sister, Mrs. Susanna Smith, of Melrose.

Mrs. Margeson has been since early youth a member of the Free Baptist Church. She was respected by and endeared to all who knew her. The funeral service on Sabbath afternoon, was conducted by the Rev. W. J. Rutledge. "The Orange Ladies’ True Blues," of which the deceased was a member, performed their ritual at the grave. A beautiful wreath from this order lay on the casket.
