Blake�s Collegiate Institute, now known as St. Augustine�s Academy. At the age of twelve his parents moved from Howard county, Mo., to Saline, where the subject of this memoir abode until 1852, when he came to this State, settling in Yolo county. January, 1853, he settled near Collinsville, Solano county, but subsequently made a permanent residence in Benicia. He was born January 10, 1837. Leona, daughter of Alexander Irvine, was the name of his wife, now deceased. Pauline and Lulu are their children.
