In the name of God Amen, I Charles Vesie of Warwick Tribe in the Somer Islands otherwise Bermoodas, planter, being in good health of body and of sound and perfect memory and being through the permission of God bound to sea in the shallop Hopewell and knowing the uncertainty of man's life, do therefore make this my last will and testament in manner and forme following:

Impris: I commend my soule into the hands of Almighty God hopeing through the meritts death and passion of my Saviour Jesus Christ to have full and free pardon and forgiveness of all my sins and to inherit everlasting life. And my body I comitt to the earth or sea, whichever it shall please my gracious God and father to appoint it to, if to the earth where my executors hereafter names shall dwell to be decently buryed at the discretion of my said executors. An ___ disposition of all such temporall estatte as it hath pleased God to bestow upon me I give and dispose as followeth:

First I will that my debts and funeral charges shall be paid and discharged.

Secondly I give and bequeath unto my loving wife Mary Vesie for and during her naturall life all my estate reall and personall.

Thirdly I give and bequeath unto my children borne and to be borne of the body of my wife Mary Vesie after the decease of their said Mother all my estate reall and personall, the names of the children borne Nathaniel Vesie, John Vesie, Mary Vesie, Sarah Vesie, Hannah Vesie, and Charles Vesie, the child unborne. Now my will is that every child borne and unborne if they soo long live have an equall proportion of my estate reall and personall. And to that end, it is my will that after the knowledge of my decease my executors within ten days cause a true and perfect inventory to be taken of all my goods and chattels reall and personall. And it is my will that when my children whoever of them shall survive to receive their portion or equall part of the land any may sell his part to his brother or sister but none of them may sell it to a stranger.

Lastly I constitute nominate and appoint my two brothers in law Nathaniel Astwood and Nathaniel Bascome to be my sole executors of this my last will and testament. And I doo hereby revoke disanull and make void all former wills and testaments by me heretofore made.

In Witness whereof I the said Charles Vesie to this last will and testament being contained on this side and to the other side of the lease sett my hand and seale the 17th day of September 1689 and in the third year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord James the Second

By his excellency the Governor and Ordinary, these ___ certifye that this eighth day of November 1705 personally appeared before me the Governor and Ordinary aforesaid, John Gibbs whoe hath subscribed his name as a witness to the last will and testament of Chares Vesie aforesaid written and solemnly made oath on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God that he was present and saw the aforesaid Charles Vesie signe, seale, publish, and declare the aforesaid will to be his last will and testament and that at the time of doing thereof he was of sound and perfect mind and memory. And that he the aforesaid deponent knew Cornelius White whoe hath alsoe subscribed his name as a witness and believed the aforesaid will is the handwriting of the aforesaid White. And that he also subscribed his name as a witness thereto.
