In the name of God, Amen, I Abraham Vesey Senior, of Warwick Parish in the Islands
of Bermuda, mariner, being of sound and memory do make and ordain this my last will and
testament in manner and following.... that is to say. First I will that all my just debts
and funeral charges be apid and discharged by my executors hereafter named, as soon as conveniently
may be after my decease.
Item. I give, devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth Vesey, the occupation
and use of all my estate both real and personal, for and during her natural life, and from and
after her decease, I give and devise the house in which I now live, together with the land thereunto
belonging, scituate in Warwick Parish in the Islands aforesaid, bounded by lands of Theodore Godet, and westerly
by lands late of Solomon Frith, my late father in law deceased, to my son John Vesey, and
if he should dec having no lawfull issue, then and in such caase, I give and devise my said house
and land scituate as aforesaid to my son Abraham Vesey, and to his heirs and assignes forever.
Nevertheless it is my will that my two daughters Elizabeth and Hannah shall have the
use and sole occupation of the two northermost chambers of my said house, from the decease
of their mother my aforesaid wife, to the time of their marriage.
Item. It is my will that from and after the decease of my aforesaid wife, to whom I have given
the use of my personal estate, for and during her natural life, that my said personal estate be
equally divided among all my children, or their representatives.
Lastly. I do hereby appoint and ordain my aforesaid wife Elizabeth Vesey, and my aforesaid son
John Vesey, executrix and executor, of this my last will and testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this thirty first day of March in the year of
our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty.
